The public API and MCP server let your own tools read that knowledge base, scoped to exactly what the connected person is allowed to see in Mereon.

Answer from your own processes

Let an AI coding assistant or chatbot look up how your business actually does something before it answers, and cite the source.

Find who owns what

Ask who is Responsible or Accountable for a process, including ownership inherited from a parent area.

Surface knowledge gaps

Pull the data-quality issues Mereon has flagged: conflicts, duplicates, stale content, and gaps.

Search source material

Run hybrid keyword and semantic search across topics and the original document text and video transcripts.

Choose your path

There are two ways to connect, and you do not need to be a developer to use the first one.

Connect an AI tool (MCP) The no-code path. Point Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client at Mereon and it gains search and lookup tools automatically.

Call the API from code A small, versioned, read-only REST API. Make a request with a single header and get clean JSON back.

Good to know before you start

Read-only

The public API and MCP server never change your data. They only read it.

Scoped to the person

A connection sees exactly what its owner can see in Mereon, checked live on every request. Change someone’s access and their tokens follow.

One key to set up

Authentication is a single personal access token you create in your profile. No OAuth dance, no app registration.

Everything links back

Every result carries a url deep link into the Mereon app, so tools can cite where an answer came from.
